I currently don’t have a blog roll on this site, but I wanted to be sure and share some of my favorite blogs that I check on a daily basis! I know some of these writers, but definitely not all. I can’t guarantee that everything they write will be relevant to your stage in life or interests, but I can wholeheartedly endorse their generous spirits, love of life, and desire to do much with the gifts they’ve been given!
WIDE OPEN SPACES by Jordy-Liz
Jordan is also a transplanted Texan finding her way in the dessert. An event planner by day, she fills her blog with honest posts about living life as a newly married professional and finding grace in the small things. In her own words: Back in 2009 I decided to compile a list of the the daily, small moments of grace I noticed in my every day routine. I did this for a year, and in that year, I learned about myself and what I deserved, I let things go that I didn’t need crowding my life, I met a boy, I became engaged to that boy and then I started planning a wedding. By January of 2010 I had collected a list of 1,825 graces. One thousand, eight hundred and twenty-five. And there were so many more that went undocumented.
In the Name of Love by Bianca Juarez
I’ve only been reading thoughts by Bianca for the past month, but I have already copied down some of her quips into my journal. I feel that I have found a kindred spirit and woman who loves God’s Word with all of her being. In Bianca’s own words: I am a walking paradox, but that’s what makes me—ME. I’m a woman who loves God and is committed to speaking truth when it hurts, loving when it’s hard, and living Life outloud for the world to see.
WITH JOY by Carey Bailey
Carey is a mixture of nostalgia, lace, and living with joy. She is following her dreams while navigating her new role as mother of two. Her posts will teach you to make butterfly mobiles, embrace your own creativity, and stop to give thanks for the moments of joy in your own life. Carey’s own project, “Cravings” is headed your way in August of 2011. In Carey’s own words: I am a wife, proud mama and in love with my vocation working with kids and families at Radiant Church. On the side I am oddly obsessed with party planning, the idea of crafting and pushing myself to pursue my dream of writing.
SPEAK WHAT WE FEEL with Renea McKenzie
Renea loves engaging Christianity and culture. She believes that faith and art travel hand in hand and she is on a journey of dialogue to explore how far they will go together. In Renea’s words: ‘Speak what we feel’ isn’t about an abandonment of propriety. That’s the last thing I want. It’s about having the freedom to feel “unchristian” emotions — anger, fear, doubt, depression — and to work through them in a constructive way. But it isn’t only about the freedom to weep with those who weep; it’s also about the freedom to rejoice with those who rejoice.
ANNIE BLOGS by Annie Downs
Annie blogs. Annie writes. Annie speaks. Annie is hilarious, honest, and appears to have a heart as big as the South. I’ve so enjoyed her journey as she runs marathons, eats BBQ, and tries to discern where God is taking her. About Annie: Annie Downs is a freelance writer in Nashville, Tennessee. Flawed but funny, she uses her writing to highlight the everyday goodness of a real and present God.
OH. And also…
Annie wrote a book and I bought three copies of said book and starting Monday I will be giving away two of them. (I wanted one for myself!) Spread the word and get ready to win a copy for yourself or someone you love!
What other blogs should I be reading?
Following,
Ginger
P.S. I’m also habitually and happily reading Chatting at the Sky, Donald Miller, A Holy Experience, Joy Eggerichs, Kevin East, Jon Acuff, and Annie Parsons… oh and also about thirty others
P.P.S. There are also a ton of family blogs that I love. Just thought I would say that. I love you family bloggers
