“Whenever God thinks of you, he has your best interests in mind; he has plans to take you further, deeper, and higher than you ever dreamed. This process begins when you seek God and spend time with him. Look for every opportunity to know God. Consider your daily schedule. What does it include? A workout at the gym? A trip to the post office? A lunch hour? A commute? Look for ways to include God in your activities. Invite God to accompany you by talking together. Look for moments- even if it’s only ten or twenty seconds- to steal away with him. God will reward your efforts as you reshape your inner life to be focused around him. As you seek God, you will find yourself abiding in him.” –Hungry for God, Margaret Feinberg
Right now, if I asked you, could you tell me who in your life is passionately in love with the Lord? I just had three people immediately come to mind. Their faces make me pause and think about why their relationship with God is so healthy. They are sharing their faith, taking risks, making sacrifices, loving others, and seeming to do it all with blossoming joy. How do they do it?
I think Margaret Feinberg’s quote hit the nail on the head. Our adventures reach new heights when we are willing to see our story through His Story. Our life has focused purpose and energy when we invest time in our relationship with the Lord. Our roots grow deeper with every moment spent in His presence.
He redeems the time we give to Him – He’s amazing like that!
As we approach Good Friday and remember the sacrifice on the cross, I hope you will join me and spend time with the One who knows us and loves us best. Look for moments to steal away and fall deeper in love.
