Today marks my one-year wedding anniversary.
That’s crazy.
It feels strange to type, but I’m grinning while I write this sentence.
Two years ago on October 17th I hadn’t actually met my husband. We had exchanged e-mails and messages, but we didn’t formally meet until November 2, 2009.
That’s crazy.
And yet, this is my story. All the dreaming, planning, thinking, hoping, and pining in my heart and mind didn’t even come close to the storyline that God had imagined!
I wish I could go back to my doubting 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 year-old self and remind her to keep hope alive and to live right there and in THAT moment. I would tell her not to wait for someone else… that the better story is written as she chooses hope, joy, and His adventurous calling.
The chapter for the 28-year old self just happened to be a totally different kind of adventure.
And now the 29 year-old is tearing up as she types that God’s timing is perfect, His purposes are true, and His gifts are grand.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9, NLT
Thanks for letting me share a little bit of my heart today. More to come throughout the rest of the week!
